Hi folks,

Do Fl Tearjerkers have a date/park set for their '08 gathering--if there is going to be an '08 gathering....???

Also, I would like any info, evaluations, experience people have of Collier-Seminole State Park and Jetty Park (county park) at Cape Canaveral...

Any good camping near Miami--including safe?

We're starting to put together next year's Fl trip...

Yes we do have gatherings planned for Feb and Nov 08 for the Florida Chapter. I have to work out the details for 08. Feb we will be at Little Talbot State Park by Jacksonville, Florida and in Nov at Anastasia State Park by St Augustine, Florida. As for others in the area the summer the weather is to questionable during Hurricane season. However if you are in the area give me a PM we will figure something out. I will ask around about the parks you have mentioned, since I haven't been to them either

Woody, I was at Talbot last year, but missed this year.

I was wondering about the difference between Little Talbot State Park and Anastasia State Park, since you are going back to Little Talbot for Feb?

I can't compare the two since I've only been to one of them.

Actually Anastsaia is a bigger park (Approx 140 sites) and the history of the area, St Augustine, plus it is also a barrier island setting. Like Talbot the ocean is very close to the campsites. Little Talbot has alot to offer but is smaller with only 41 sites. Due to the renovation work going on there we went back to Anastasia in Feb. They kinda gave us short notice on the renovation and in fairness to everyone that had planned on attending it was only 45 minutes or so further south. I like both parks. St Augustine however wins hands down with interesting historical sites and things to do and it was a 1.5 mile drive from the park entrance. It will be the park for the Nov 07 gathering like it always has been. I am going to call Little Talbot Ranger Station to see if and when they will be complete with the ongoing work there for the Feb 08 gathering schedulles that will be posted soon fo the Florida Chapter.
I am getting ready for the Southern Applalacian Chapter gathering in May
