I have been in contact with the Ranger Station at the park. Due to bridge construction at the exit for Heckscher Drive from I-95 (milepost exit 358A – old Exit 124A) is closed due to this construction. Alternative routes to get there are as follows. Those coming from the north will have to use exit 273 at Fernadina Beach then proceed to Little Talbot via Amelia Island which is north of Talbot. This detour is approx 28 miles or so. Those coming from the south will have to exit 9A south of jacksonville and proceed north to the park and look for Heckscher Drive. The ranger stated it was the first intersection after you get off the exit. I think this exit puts you south of the St. John River. I will look it up to be sure. If anyone knows a better route feel free to post it for a shorter way to get there. The Ranger station phone # 904-251-2320

I would suggest checking out the detour exits to get to the park since I-95 exit 353 is still closed (Heckenscher Drive) due to ongoing construction in that aera. Call the Ranger station there and get directions if that will help

Did I mention I had to cancel? Couldn't get Friday off...but it turned out to be a good thing because I have a funeral/memorial service to attend for my neighbor.

Have a wonderful time everybody and Mary Ann bakes great cookies - score some before they disappear.
