MAY 16 - 18, 2008 Piney Creek, NC

The Southern Appalachian Chapter of the TearJerkers “Springtime At Tha River” will be held at River Camp USA in Piney Creek, NC., in beautiful Ashe County….the Christmas tree capital of the world. www.rivercampusa.com Make your reservations ASAP to insure a site on the river bank by calling 1-800-RIVERCAMP . Ask for Joanne and tell her you are with the TearJerker’s group. Joanne can also give you driving directions….better then MapQuest can !!!!

$22.00 for a single site (2 adults, 1 trailer) or $18.00 if you want to double up on a site with someone else (up to 4 adults and 2 trailers) Extra adults on a site (in a tent) would be $5.00 each or children $2.00 each. If you are going to double up on a site with someone, MAKE SURE that you tell Joanne when you are making your reservations.

There is fishing (you will need a valid NC Fishing License), canoeing and kayaking available in the New River.

Some days all you can do is smile and wait for some kind soul to come along and pull your ass out the bind you've gotten yourself into.

Any fishermen/women coming? I know the New River is superb for smallmouth bass. Is it wade-able at the campground?

It looked to be any where from knee deep to waist deep. I caught several small mouth last time I went just casting from the bank. They were hungry and aggressive.
