Sorry we can't make it, it's a bit of a drive for us, about 1500mi each way.

I think a Surf and Turf BBQ and DO cookoff is in order for this one. So bring on your best stuff. I know it won't go to waste  I don't think I have ever been to a bad one yet. Of course lets not forget the cookies either :D ( I won't mention anybody by name HINT HINT) those are always a hit with the crowd

FEBRUARY GATHERING

Postby JOHNFROMINDY » Sat Nov 22, 2008 8:02 pm

We are considering pulling our teardrop from Indianapolis down to Florida 8) for a couple of weeks in February :D . The gathering on the 5th & 6th sounds like a great stop along the way.
I'm confused though  !!!!! The forum talks about the "Little Talbot State Park". The only park with a similar name that I can find on the net is "Talbot Island State Park". Are they the same place? I would hate to make reservations at the wrong park. Thanks.

Well it's not that I am hinting or anything like that  If someone were to make lets say, strictly a suggestion mind you, chocolate chip or peanut butter. I am sure it would be greatly appreciated by many others in the group than myself. Alright you caught me, it's me asking for them. They sure are good though.

"Little Talbot" is in Talbot Island State Park, there is Big Talbot State Park with no camping sites on the north end and Little Talbot State Park that has 41 sites on the south end. It is a barrier Island east of Jacksonville, Florida. See ya there

Little Talbot Gathering

Postby JOHNFROMINDY » Mon Nov 24, 2008 9:39 pm

Get ready for a couple of "Hoosier Tearjerkers". We have reserved site 6 for Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. We're planning on a day early in case the roads are bad up north. We are pretty flexible on the pitch-in, and will be sure to bring the dutch oven.
Looking forward to meeting you all.

Talbot Island camping event

Postby MAPX » Tue Jan 06, 2009 8:19 pm

I have a small airstream and since your event is so close to home, was looking to participate. At 19' it is not exactly a teardrop but at least it is old, 1964.

All are welcome, MAPX to any Tearjerker gathering. I love the style of the Airstreams....very graceful lines. We had a 1971 31' Avion, It was a beast to haul any where. That is why we got into Teardrop camping 8)

Hope to see ya in about a month,

Well as time draws near. Cant wait to go camping. I am not sure if the ongoing road constuction has the Heckenscher drive exit still closed. The alternative way to get to the park is to look for the exit for road 9A. I believe its the eastern bypass. Take that road to Heckenscher Drive and follow the signs to the park.Looking foward to seeing ya at the gathering. It will be fun as always. Just remember what happens at Little Tabot stays at Little Talbot     And yes I am still alive just very busy until now at work we will be in site #2 and Ross and Carla will be in site #1. We will be there Thursday and there is a good seafood resturant in the area. If you come on thursday come join us at he resturant

Has the Heckenscher Drive exit 353 been reopened? Last time I was through there it didnt exsist anymore due to the ongoing construction on I-95 . That was the reason we all had to take the alternative route Road 9A to get to the campground the last gathering we all meet at Little Talbot
