I will post the dates as soon as I can for this gathering in Feb '09 once I work out the details. We may have another Key West gathering following this one also. Since we had such a good time last Feb. I will know better after the North surrender to the South gathering in Virgina in a couple of days. If I do the Keywest Gathering you have to make reservations imeadiately when I post the dates. You can always cancel them later.I wouldn't wait til the last minute for this one.You won't get a site. Space is a premium down there.

I have only been camping twice in my life so forgive me if this is a really stupid question. Most of the sites in that loop say "tent only". Including sites 1 and 2. Are you allowed to bring a travel trailer on a site that is for tents only?

 ... I have already booked a site at Manatee Springs SP the 12-13-14th of February. Guess I won't be able to make it to Talbot Island SP.

We have always camped in this loop for every gathering for the last 6 years. The sites are not big enough for large travel trailers and RV"s. Teardrops fit just fine

We have a feb 8 committment here in CT, so will be down about 2 weeks later.

Was wondering about places like the manatee springs... a couple of years ago we just camped as we went with no reservations.... is it necessary to do it this far in advance.? we don't really have much of a schedule, just want some warmer weather.

It probally wouldn't hurt to make reservation just to be sure they have space available. Even with gas prices lowering many people aren't going far from home and staying more locally. Considering that this is the beginning of the tourist season down here. It is a long way to travel in hope they have space available

As long as I am up wind from those that participate, It was a rather eyewatering experience, to say the least, in the confines of a teardrop. Matter of fact I think it was your campsite that was affected the worse all night from what I remember you told me both doors open most of the night LOL. It was the first time the inside of a teardrop was windyier than it was outside if ya know what I mean. Thank GOD for two doors in the design HUH. As I recall many I think found religion that night because I kept hearing from numerous campsites the muffled phrase "OH MY GOD" and then the sound of doors flying wide open    I have to admit it was funny as hell listening to the surrounding campsites while my teardrop aired out literally. I know of quite a few folks that were outside many times enjoying the cool FRESH air that night. Listening to everyone else that was having repetitive "air quality" issues or problems all night was hysterical from where I was sitting. Mainly because my wife wouldn't let me back in the teardrop until my gastrointestinal outbursts had subsided also. I used the old blame the dog gag. It didn,t work as well as I had thought when she reminded me that we had left them both home. LOL So I am thinking that as much as the fondness of the memory as it brings a big smile to my face. I am thinking that I will "pass" on the Chilli Cook off idea    You know me, I just had to vent on the subject

I remember the car ride home, good thing we weren't in a tear that night. Oh and thanks to that hot stuff Steve made, the next morning was ruined too. :poop: Too bad they were all so good!

Sorry we can't make it, it's a bit of a drive for us, about 1500mi each way.
