Has anyone been to Gulf State Park to camp lately?

Is the campground reconstruction from hurricane damage finished?

They have built several new cinder block comfort stations that are very nice and clean.

I just got back from a trip that included Gulf State Park.

Hurricane Ivan killed all the pine trees and left the reopened park almost shadeless, and nearly bare.

For a State Park, it was expensive. More than $28 a night.

We stayed in Gulf Shores (hotel) in October and passed the State Park campground-it was packed!

Good grief, isnt it the weekend yet?
Maybe if I sleep in the camper the week
will pass faster

You used to not see the campers from the hyway.

I could see my little camper alongside the big rigs from the hyway.
