Ok, booked site 78 in Hickory, see you guys there. John, your profile says you like to kayak- bringing yours? I am bringing canoe and a kayak, and plan on floating the Ichentucknee one day too- looks to be less than an hour away and have always wanted to do that.

There are 3 of us and yes we are bringing kayaks. We will be going down the Manatee run then down the Suwannee about 10 miles on Sat. We will have a pick-up car there and would love for you to join us. :applause:

Sounds great thanks. Will save the long bike ride shuttle that I normally have to do!

Pot Luck

Postby Lou Drop Inn » Fri Mar 18, 2011 2:55 pm

At the Silver River event, we had a pot luck and that worked out well. We can post here what we will bring -- that way we don't end up with all desserts, etc. (not that I would mind having all desserts -- yum!)

We camped there on the way back from LCG4 in 2009. We took a loop trip from Louisiana all the way to Key West and then back up the west side of Florida. Manatee Springs is a really nice spot but you should be aware that it is populated by some of the most fearless and aggressive raccoons we have ever encountered. They even came by to raid while we were still cleaning up from dinner. Keep a close eye on all your food and do not leave anything out at any time.

Manatee Springs

Postby Jimmy and Peggy » Sun Mar 20, 2011 8:14 am

We went out to the Manatee yesterday and the springs looked great. People were already enjoying the water.

For those of you that would still like to join us the Magnolia Loop is still open on the first come first serve. You can call the park (352) 493-6072

Friday night we will have a meet & greet at site 66, bring your chairs.

Saturday night will be pot luck at site 66.

Make sure to bring your swimsuits and enjoy the Springs!!

See you there!

Sorry to miss a good time at the springs, but I find myself without a camper, hope you have good weather and a great time! I'll be thinking about you!

Hey Angie, I guess congrats are in order because you must be finished with your build and ready to start camping. I'm looking forward to another gathering and continuing a camping friendship. This outing is in conflicted with prior commitments so see you on the next.

Becca and Jim, we're both disappointed you can't make it. We did have our maiden voyage about a month ago to Disney's Fort Wilderness. All went well, but she does need more work. We won't go to another gathering until you guys can make it!
Thanks,
Angie
