Any nearby campgrounds to Devils Fork State Park - Salem NC

Postby Alfred » Mon Aug 22, 2011 2:04 pm

Hi All,

Considering attending the TD gathering at Devils Fork State Park, SC on 9/16/11-9/18/11, but all of the campsites are sold-out. Called the park office, as I was hoping they had some walk-in sites held back, if I showed up early, but they don't.

They said there are some private campgrounds nearby, but they didn't have names or info. Anyone suggest or recommend a private campground near Devils Fork State Park?

Thanks, AL

Al, Jocassie State Park is only a few miles east of Devils Fork, right on hwy 11. Do not know how many sites they have there, but I know it's not many. Oconee County park is a few miles below Salem on Lake Keeowe, off the highway to Walhalla. There is also Oconee State Park up on the mountain behind Devils Fork, but it's around 20 miles away.
Hope that helps some. Bob D 8) 8)
