Anastasia State Park has a 139 site campground. Each site has a picnic table, an in-ground grill, fire ring and water. All sites are equipped with electricity, if needed. None of the sites have sewer hookups, but there is a dump station located in the campground. Each of the sites is located in a shady hardwood hammock, away from the blowing sand and salt spray of the beach. However, most sites are within walking distance to the beach. There are natural barriers between each site that allow privacy for the visitor.

Driving Directions
From I-95 take exit 311 (old 94). Go east on State Road 207. Turn right on State Road 312. Turn left on A1A. Travel approx. 1.5 miles north to main park entrance. (Turn right after The Surf Station.)
From US-1 turn east onto State Road 312. Turn north (left) on A1A. Travel approx 1.5 miles north to main park entrance. (Turn right after The Surf Station.)

The latest info on the state parks websites list Anastasia's camping fee as $25.07. Seniors (65 or over) get half price rates. I tried to find a map of the sites at the park online, but didn't see one. They gave me one last year when I drove through the park, but I don't think I have it now. But, I found a reservations site that has each loop pictured individually, but not all to the same scale. It was close enough to see how the camping loops are laid out.

Are you looking at Coquina loop again this year? If so, are the outside campsites better than the inner ones? The inner sites are closer to the restrooms, and that's my wife's main concern...having one close by.

I'm looking forward to posting of the dates so that I can reserve a site. Hopefully, the weather will cool off some by October. We want to go to the Keys gathering too.

I wasn't aware that the rates had gone up. Yes I am trying to get in to Coquina loop. They recomended that loop for groups verses the others. I have worked out the dates for the gatherings and will post them soon

As for the keys gathering I had to cancel it this year due to my Boss having a heart attack right before the gathering. If the keys are still with us after hurricane season the I am up for a gathering in the Keys possibly in march

Do you suppose that's because they think that groups are noisy and that loop is off by itself? It's closer to the beach than the others.

Well thats part of it maybe, actually it is a tighter loop and the sites aren't so spread out as much as the others. Plus the inner loop surrounds the restroom area and the handicap camp areas are paved along or by the restrooms It is by far the prettiest state park in Florida and the history of the area goes back 550 years give or take a couple of years

Hey I just did a quick check of the Coquina loop for weekends in October.
It seems that as of today there are currently 7-10 reservations for each weekend in October. That is out of 33 sites in that loop.

The rate is 23.00 bucks plus tax.

Sure hope it is any weekend but this one. October 19-22, Because I'll be here that weekend. Magnoliafest Bought the tickets months ago. But if it is, there's always the next one.

The 19th -23rd is the fall gathering at Davidson River for the Southern Appalachain chapter.

Still want to know when the Florida chapter will hold the October event?

Okay here it is the dates for the gathering Nov. 10 - 12 I will be in site 116 and arriving on Thurday the 9th around noonish or so. Others will be arriving o9n the ninth also. Even though it is a Tear Jerker event last year we had a problem with them remembering that it is a group. Reserve America, as impresonal as they are, doesn't recognize group events on line. So make your reservations now and we will see you there So please post your site numbers so we all know where everyone,s sites are located. Sorry about the delay

I have site 115 reserved. Per my wife's instructions, I had to get one close to the restrooms. We plan on arriving around noon on Friday and leaving on Sunday. Gee, that only gives me 4 months to get ready. I'd better start packing.

My wife is pleased with the dates. She hopes it will be cool by then. We (or maybe just I) will probably go on a shakedown camping trip before then, somewhere closer to home.
