Parts catalog for building your teardrop

Postby caryeastwood » Mon Nov 06, 2006 5:58 pm

This company has it all! They sell tools and hardware (drawer pulls, hinges, rails, etc) to help you build your teardrop, at least the wood parts of it. When I get ready to start, I'm going to be using them a lot (what ever I can't find at the Home Depot). The site to get a catalog is...

Lee Valley is an excellent source for premium tools, etc but can be quite pricey. You can find good industrial grade tools and hardware from other sources that are kinder to the check book without resorting to buying Harbor Freight junk. Check out Rockler they aren't the cheapest but are somewhat better in prices. I shop at Western Tool Supply for power tools, they have stores on both coasts, etc :) Danny

And Rich's List (above in the links etc...) has various links for hardware along with every other part needed to build a TD.

Wow, retailers are marking their stuff up?!?!?! Those fiends!!!
They are supposed to sell at their cost. Profit is for greedy pigs.
I'm sure some have built trailers without buying anything from a company or manufacturer....................and they look like it.
You can only do so much with cast off junk and found materials.
And, yes, Lee Valley is quite expensive, but they do carry very nice stuff, much of it well worth the price. Much of it is also available elsewhere at a better price, so shop wisely.

I just got the Rockler catalog, still too much. But I'm a DIY by heart, even tools, and hardware is scavenged.

slowcowboy wrote:waste of time. you know they are marking it all up. I would just shop around like everyone else you can build these teardrops alot cheaper with out touching a company or a manafacture to find parts to do it.

in this day and age theres no way you can get the hole trailer with out paying out the nose at one place!

shopping for parts and pricing at diffrent places IS A MUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

slow

I see them a candy store. I like looking through them because they give me new ideas then I go look for them, or invent my own but some times it takes a catalog to make you realize things that you will never see in a small town like mine. I am 500 miles from LA, SF. There are big towns nearer, but in my area the Rv stores only offer very small selections. I do not buy on line. I just don't.
