Hot Diggity, I won!

The search for the elusive Waffle Dog Iron is over. I finally one an auction. By chance, I found a listing at shopgoodwill.com. I had forgotten to keep an eye on that site. It was still a little more than I wanted to spend, but got it for less than they are going on Ebay. http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.as ... D=13521580 . For those I have been bidding against, you won't have to worry about me bumping your bids anymore. Now I am off to do my :dancing . Sausage is going on the shopping list.

I had forgotten to keep an eye on Goodwill. I found a scam page and then the next day, I found a sold listing on Goodwill (ironically a store within 50 miles of my home had it listed). A few days later, I checked and there was a new listing. It sat with my opening bid of $6.99 for three days before it started getting bumped up. with about 15 minutes left, I increased my bid. As luck would have it, someone bid at the last second just 75 cents under my max bid. I am so glad to be done with that search.

My basic recipe:
1 egg
1 cup milk
1 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup veg oil
Super simple and works every time

Mine is easier. Krusteze pancake or waffle mix and water. Mix per directions.

I'm thinking a Belgian recipe (I love the light crispy texture). I usually use a Bisquick type mix, but I'm going Belgian for the first round.

Heck half the fun of getting one of these puppies is the experimenting! One of my favorites was the peanut butter and jelly. Made a heck of a mess of the iron, but it was sure good!

Glad to hear that you finally got one. I know you have been looking for a while. Just this weekend, I had a roll of the smaller cinnamon rolls. Cut them in 1/2, spray up the dog iron with Pam place them with the cut side down and cook on the stove. Watch your heat! Makes bite sized cinnamon roll snacks and doesn't use as much gas as the oven on the Coleman stove, or as much time in the dutch oven. They can stick, so Pam it up! Yummmmmm.

PS..sorry if I contributed to your new "addiction"........not really...Doug

Waffle Dog makers...is there anything they can't do?

Thanks for that, Doug. Even though I paid more that I wanted, I don't feel bad. At least the extra is for charity. They don't pop up often on the Goodwill page, so anyone looking will have to check quite a bit. The tracking info said I should have it Tuesday. Then the fun begins.

Well, the brown truck came by for a visit today. Look what he left me.

It has the box, instruction sheet and an unopened pack of sticks. This is another completely unused 'Dogger (no memories made yet  ).Time to burn some memories into this thing. There will be waffle dogs for breakfast this week. For those who are wondering, I give the whole shopgoodwill.com experience   .
