We'll bring 5#'s of chicken breasts & help pay for some of the roux. Eddie, if I remember right we had to heat the roux last year to get it out of the jar(s). How much do we need? Dunno if I can find here or not. I'll let ya know if I do, if not lemme know how much it costs there & I'll send ya some $$... Will also have a couple or three loaves for garlic bread.

Good question Harvey. How many jars do you figure Eddie? I did find some here, but not your preferred brand. Harvey, you are right, we did have to "soften" it up in hot water.

Don't quote me on this but I think we had 6 pint sized jars last year. I'll pick up the roux here just to make it easier. Or I'll just make some ahead of time and freeze it. That's prolly the best plan anyway. Cheaper and easier than getting it out of a bunch of jars.

I will pick up the last 5 pounds of chicken, it will be 6 since they sell in 3 lb bags but I am sure that will be ok, also it will be cooked before arrival unless it is not supposed to be!

Raw would be better Thomas. I find that if you use cooked chicken it tends to fall apart before the gumbo is done.

Yeah Thomas, that's what I remember from last year. I WILL have it cut up tho. Last year Eddie decided whole breast halves were too big so we had to 'fish' 'em out of the pot to cut up
