Government Shutdown affecting parks

I encourage the moderators to lock this thread immediately upon any unfortunate derailment of the topic toward politics or political policy in any way. This is NOT a political discussion.

I would like only like the factual information regarding the STATUS of park any park closings that might affect the South Central region and its gatherings. This is messy business with states and the gov so some are closing their gates for the time being and some are not so we should all be aware how this will affect us on an individual park level. The individual state parks are not widely reported so our factual data specifically related to the parks should be helpful to the entire group.

I can share that the Corps of Engineers parks at Lake Lavon are closed that have campgrounds.

Corp of engineers is a government run operation, so is affected by the shutdown.

Individual States parks are not.

Not that I put much faith in Facebook, but the park has posted there saying the same thing.

Lake Bistineau State Park is a state agency and is not affected by the federal government shut-down. We are open!

Thanks Rob, I saw a news story that I am sure everyone else did, where the a Govenor was directed by the National Park Service to close several state parks that receive federal funding so I wasn't sure where the lines crossed sometimes.

We are pretty much through for the year camping, Nancy is teaching her fourth graders.
However Ohio only has one National park and it does not have camping.
On the Ohio State Park web site is this

All Ohio State Park lands and state-run facilities, including campgrounds, launch ramps, marinas, golf courses, dog parks, picnic areas, trails, etc., are open, and all special events will take place as scheduled. We look forward to welcoming you to our parks!

A guy in my office had vacation plans that involved the Grand Canyon. He said there were barriers blocking the entrances. Some people tried to go around them, but he decided not to and came on back to Texas.
