Tom, I am so sorry to hear that, not only to miss the gathering but more importantly the family issue... you are a very good son!

At lunch, I went home and hooked up the teardrop to wash it off at the coin car wash in preparation to leave early tomorrow morning. When I got back to work, I noticed that my mother left a voice mail to call. Turns out that my father was being admitted immediately to the hospital to undergo treatment for leukemia. Linda and I will be helping her get to and from the hospital and to take care of things.

We will miss seeing everyone.

Take care,
Tom

Tom, i'm sorry you guys had to add to the no show list. I will keep your parents as well as you and Linda in my prayers.

FYI: I received a reminder email to pre-register unfortunately their link takes me to the old reserveamerica.com site which of course says I have no reservations  so don't be alarmed if you get the same email and the link takes you to the wrong place. When you go to the correct link http://reservations.usedirect.com/lastateparks it will show it under reservations or holds correctly. I emailed the webmaster.

Also FYI my reminder said I booked Thursday night too which I totally forgot about so I asked my boss if I could leave at noon tomorrow and we will see what he says. I work at home so I can take off right after that but it means I will be up late tonight getting ready and shopping and will just need to stop by and pick up firewood and ice as I am rolling out the door. I plan to be there an hour or two before sundown Thursday! ! :D

Made it home okay--long trip-extended with a quick visit to Edddie Smelley's shop in Lufkin. They couldn't make the trip due to work deadlines.

Great to meet RandyG and fambly--See? Plenty of food! Come join the campfire next time.

Also, great to meet and spend time with Rob and that fantastic CabinCar. Thing of beauty. We're very glad you made the trip and hope you come back.

The weather and whole event couldn't have been better. Wonderful to see all the previously met, and the newbies. Hope we didn't scare anybody off--permanently.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

After an extended tour up the Nachez Trace, I made it home as well.

Thanks to all for your southern hospitality, it was a great time!
Jack is quite the character, and every bit as kind and warm hearted as I had expected.
I enjoyed making so many new friends, and hope to be able to return for a future gathering.

Special thanks to Tony for helping me deal with a car battery gone bad.
Not a big deal normally, but when a round trip to town to get a new one is nearly 40 miles, having someone offer to take me there and back was really nice!
