Tyler State Park - March 21-23

Wondering if anybody wanted to put together a gathering at tyler state park in March?

My March is open, It might be chilly like BB has been in the past but hey that's what a campfire is for! Tyler's just about an hour from me and a nice drive the whole way, so I am in. Might be time to pick up a state park pass!

In January/February us crazies in the Hoosier chapter (Indiana) have the annual shiveree gathering. It's only 1 night and it's only for the hard core...but we have it...

In January the pickin in the pines people in pine mills, TX do a thing called "polar bear pickin" which is the same folk festival, just cold! But in January you never know it could be 60 during the day down here! Eddie Lbs hosted the gunslinger gathering in Feb once and although it rained one night, we still got a good firepit night and a nice afternoon at the shooting range. I will camp in cold over hot any day!!

Never been to Tyler State Park, that might be nice. Let's get it going and do it.

Hey Bobby, I checked the 28th and all the sites are booked, there's no holiday that weekend so I dunno why... The weekend before is the 21st-23rd and has sites available in all three loops. It is also the FIRST week after daylight savings time begins, so we will be celebrating the return of longer daylight evenings!

I was going to go ahead and book, but does anyone know if one loop is better then the other? I lean toward Cedar Point because the other two have sewer hookups (Big RVs) and Cedar Point does not

If it is a state park don't think you can reserve a loop. All you get is a "spot". Then it is first come first serve. Unless you get the area labeled group camping area.

You can reserve a site within a specific loop because some loops have different amenities, but you are right that can't choose what site within the loop.

I just reserved a site in the Cedar Point loop for March 21-23rd!

Cool! I think March is the beginning of camping season so the sooner we reserve the better!

I'm glad that this gathering is gaining some steam. I'll probably be able to contribute a ton of firewood for this gathering. Depends on how much I can get gathered up between now and then.
