The Glampette's 1st TV appearance

Postby deleted » Sat Dec 07, 2013 5:08 pm

Hi Ladies (and all of your drop in Gents)

I'm posting this here because the reason I was interviewed on The Jennylyn Show was because she was very intrigued that I am a woman who designed and travels alone with my tiny camper. It's a 28 minute interview that aired on KMVT Channel 15 Mountain View California's public access channel. In the interview I was able to give a shout out to TNTTT, Alaska Teardrop, Camp-Inn, and Michigan's UP.

Click here to watch the interview on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I1MJ7HgZlQ

It was a disappointment that they weren't able to shoot the interior so I added a photo of it, and a few other things we mentioned in the blog post recapping the interview: http://theflirtyguide.blogspot.com/2013/12/the-glampettes-first-television.html

Thanks Shadow Catcher,

LOL I don't give autographs but some people have requested The Glampette run over a piece of paper and give them her tread mark

Owning The Glampette has definitely been a growing experience. I may have said it here before but in case I haven't, it's been an awakening of sorts. To live so long and have no idea I would enjoy traveling/camping so much was quite a shock and was completely unanticipated. I thought I would enjoy the traveling/camping but now I feel like it's in my blood

Stacie, I am fortunate to have camped most of my life. I grew up in Napa and we returned last year and camped at Big Redwoods State Park sixty years from my first time at age three. There are many wonderful places in the us and Canada. Hopefully we will cross paths, perhaps CAG or when we head west again in a few years. ;)

That would be great if you're back out this way. I'm planning on attending the Crossroads rally in 2015. If you attend that we could meet there

I'm envious that you have known about camping almost your entire life. Well, I better make sure I make up for the lost years so I'll have no regrets later. :)

Nice job Stacie! You are a natural on TV. I think you need your own show. We just need a Teardrop network and you could be a roving reporter. Traveling to gatherings and places of interest around the country.

Great job, Stacie! :applause:

It's unfortunate that they camera crew couldn't show your lively and smartly done trailer interior; but, your blog remedies that.
Your stories were interesting and, as someone else said you're a natural on TV.

Thank you Woodbutcher! And so nice to meet you in WI

I made a false start at producing short video posts for my blog in the past. With the trailer I have to say I'm once again thinking in that direction. I may very well do exactly what you suggested by next year. Just need to really practice with the camera and editing software.

Thank you Sharon. I've been on tv a number of times in the past for a wide variety of interviews, some local news clips, other public access shows, a TODAY show appearance, as well as a segment on an HGTV program. At first I thought my heart would explode I was so nervous. Since then not only have I become desensitized to being on camera, I've done some public speaking and took a couple of grueling presentation workshops to help me overcome my fear. The one good thing is when I'm nervous I speak more slowly than normal which works out great for tv :R

And it was disappointing that they weren't able to shoot the interior. Jennylyn was going to add the photo in but then her director surprised her and edited the raw footage for her as a very generous surprise. She didn't have the heart to ask him to go back and re-edit the tremendous favor he'd done for her so we put it up as it was. :)

Congratulations, very well done.
I have done various forms of camping on and off over my life but as a female camping alone it is a very growing experience.

Thank you Steve for embedding the video. I couldn't figure out how to do it myself.

And thanks Karen and Miriam for your comments. Hoping to start making my own short videos of what it's like winter camping here in the Bay Area. Mostly cooking glampy food :)
