New member from Michigan

Postby Sidekick » Tue May 27, 2014 10:05 pm

I am a jack of all trades and just recently discovered this forum. It has fueled my artistic juices to build a trailer. I am 63 years old and act as a special effects technician for a local production company. I got a lead on an old raised top van cap and i think that is going to be my starting point. Once I figure out how to post I will keep the build posted.

Welcome from some one just south of the border. I would suggest you join TearJerkers http://www.tearjerkers.net and come to some of the gatherings, seeing what others have and have built can help with the decision making process. The Great Lakes chapter has a number of gatherings this summer Sleeping Bear Dunes is the next one.

Attending a gathering is the farthest thing from my mind right now. I just went thru a divorce and need something to keep my mind focused
But, thanks for the invite, maybe when my house on wheels is finished.

I too am 63. I too am recently divorced. I have my house of 25 years up for forclosure and believe me the support and care afforded by my second family ( the tearjerker regulars )is a great comfort. Besides where are you gonna get up close and personal with tiny trailers and get tons of great ideas. So don't close doors that were opened to you. :goodmorning:

Well put Bob. Stop in at a gathering, even to say hello, and
ask a few questions. Even if the question doesn't pertain
to trailers or camping. We all need to talk from time to time.
Take some time out to get acquainted, meet some new friends.
What part of Michigan are you in ??

Hope to meet you down the road, :shake hands: Doug

Welcome to the group.
Remember that the bigger your circle, the better chance that someone will listen and care. Not that any of us have the answers for you, but sometimes can help take some of the pot-holes out of your road.
Good luck and happier days ahead.
