propane hose

Postby Kens » Tue May 16, 2006 8:49 am

Did anybody do this? I have a propane camp stove from coleman. What I want to do is change the hard brass tube that supplies the gas with a flexable hose. The brass tube comes apart. I just need a high pressure hose between the preset regulator and the stove connector. I checked a few large camping stores no luck any help here? Off to anouther store be back soon. Kens

Cabelas and Bass Pro Shop have a good selection of flexible extension hoses for propane use. I think I also saw some at WalMart for adapting a 20# tank to a lantern. It is so you can put the lantern on a pole and have the tank on the ground.

In my area (San Bernardino,CA) we have a store called 'The Hose Man'.
I had a propane hose made to order there.
They said it used a special type of rubber for propane.

I have had custom hoses made at the propane suppliers shop. Not the "swap a tank" places, but the people that will come out to your house and fill your tank, or will re-fill your tank at their location. The local company here is called AmeriGas, they may be a chain.

emiller. No Camping World near me. I just got off the phone with Coleman they do have what I need it's just not listed anywhere. Coleman said it is a 5ft hose with a adapter? Kind of pricie but I figure I am tired of looking and with gas prices I'll bite the bullet. I ordered it afew minutes ago. 7 to 10 days we'll see? Kens

Ken--

I would really like to see what you get. I have to keep taking the metal tube off my stove everytime I put it away. One of these days the gasket is going to snap and I'll be hungry. As the Mad Jacker says, "We luv dem pics!"

Same as Rob here--need a link or photo of what you bought. I'm a little confused, because I want to do something similar myself, but I want to hook up to a large tank--not a canister.

I was looking in the direction below, but I have the same deal with these three Brinkmann ovens that I want to hook up to the same large tank--in that they have that same solid brass connector/rod:

Look under some big BBQ grills and I think the hose running from
the reg. to the side burners might work with a little creative engineering I not sure that has to be all that special of a hose since its after the reg.
theres not much pressure only a couple of pounds And if that don't work call Hank Hill he'll fix you up "by golly I'll tell ya what"

Ken-

I have a flexible hose that runs from my hard line to the stove regulator.

The hard to find fitting is the 1-20 UNF Male fitting that allows you to screw onto the regulator.

I found mine at a Old RV Sales & Supply place.

You have one around your place?

Cheers,

Coop

Nytewyng, dunno if they're in all stores but Gander Mountain here has both 5# & 11# tanks. Think they run around $35-40 or so.
