My New Zealand Adventures 2015- today

Postby felixx » Thu Aug 27, 2015 2:23 am

Well in 24 hours I will be going out in my little tear for the first time ever.
I have a 128km drive in a car that my auto sparky could not find a regulator for my alternator in time for this trip
So I have 2 batteries and a charger!

I am in a convoy with about 70 mechanically minded friends, what can go wrong?

Pictures to come...
Thanks for all the support and kindness during this journey

I will report in upon my return..

Well my adventure started well..
I met about 25 cars at the local pub
Image
We drove about 140km to the foothills of the southern alps to a town called Hanmer Springs

I made my campsite

Stayed two nights and ate, cooked and drank my way through the weekend..

Sorry for the lack of pics, I only had my phone with me. Some people with real cameras took pics which I will be shamelessly hot linking once I get them

Oh I shot a rabbit one evening so I jammed it on the spit roast after I cooked a 150lb pig

(As I was in charge of cooking for about 80 carnivores I did not have a beer until after I shot the bunny)

:D Great time! Loved the pic with the large RV vs tiny car & TD. Always good to travel with a group of mechanically adept folks too. Looks like a real successful adventure.

Dale - it got lots of good feedback. it is not finished, but was campable.
I will be adding kwila (hardwood decking timber) flashings around doors and as a rubbing strip along the sides. There will be aluminium strips running 125mm high along each side as well (prob propellor or checker plate). This will be bent 50mm underneath as well to aid with weather proofing.

Teardrop Nanny- Thank you :)
