That would be fun, depending on the dates I would be in.

We're planning on spending a few days in the UP on our way to or from Glacier NP, the PNW, and the Canadian Rockies. If the timing works we'd love to camp with the group for a night or two.

Thanks.

Might I throw in a couple of suggestions for parks if we do this. One being the Porcupine Mountains State Park, I personally like the Presque Isle campground at the Western end. It has great views of Lake Superior, an awesome series of waterfalls a foot bridge and a bunch of other cool things to do and see, also The Lake in the Clouds and the site where the B-17 bomber crashed back in the mid '40s ( its a good hike to that one ). There is also The Sylvania Wilderness for those who enjoy canoeing and kayaking

Any interest in doing a side trip to Copper Harbor, too? When we did the Tears Across The UP, we could only get parts of the UP, and left out the Porkies and Copper Harbor.

 I would be willing to go up to Copper Harbor at Fort Wilkins. Quite a few things to do in that whole Keweenaw area : light houses, the fort, Brockway Mountain, mines and other cool stuff. I plan on being up there snowmobiling again this year.

IMO, the best campground in the area is Ontonagan Township Park. http://www.ontonagontownshippark.com/.
There are numerous sites next to the sandy beach, very reasonable priced, and unbelievably can swim in Lake Superior, which I did twice this year, in August and mid September.

The one negative is they do NOT accept reservations. Campers can call at 8 am on arrival day to request a site, the staff will place an orange cone with your name on an envelop on an available site.
Site 38 is the smallest site, all sand. Site 28, 29 are full sun and sand.
I have stayed in site 41 and 66.

Newer pay showers, .75cents for 3 minutes.

Last summer Porcupine Mountains Wilderness state Park campgrounds shower facilities were being upgraded.

Enjoy your experience in the UP.

If a group would plan a crawl across the UP, it could only be with campgrounds who take reservations as it is important to have that part in "stone" before the trip. IMO. Some of the parks were sold out when we did the crawl in 2011.
I like the changed Michigan State Parks system as it is site specific, all the time so one even can know their campsite before arrival.

Would LOVE to! I've had many years traveling around the UP. Miss it a lot. (not the bugs so much) I've always waned to show the wife the many waterfalls, Porquepine mountains, The Yooper's Museum and tons of old tuff mines. Beautiful!
I'm retired, so I can probably go. The wife still works and may not be able to go. (We're planning a trip out west to see stuff and visit the kids & grandkids)
Just need dates to move conflicting items around.
