Looks like a great unit for a teardrop. Who builds it and how much is it? What type of refrigerant does it use? I'm sure it would have to be evacuated and charged after installation?

OK, did a search and found all are too big in capacity (9000 btu up) and too expensive for my budget...$800 up.

A quick search in this forum of "ductless mini ac" produced these results. I believe there are more out there also.

I have installed these, in my opinion they are too big for a teardrop, they require most are 120vac and use the power wires to communicate from the indoor unit to the outdoor unit. Installation is very easy. They are very "over engineered" have no electric heat like a standard heat pump, but instead don't run the indoor fan during defrost. I would stick to a known manufacturer. Because parts are very specific from manufacturer to manufacturer, and a lack of parts availability would turn a simple repair into an equipment replacement

Like many things we want to fit into TD's almost everything is too large, has too much capacity, etc. Same thing with a mini-split. OTTCT uses one in his CTC, but he is huge compared to a TD. I love mini-splits; they are very efficient and some can run "backwards" and provide very efficient heating too. Much better than electric resistance heating, depending on the exterior temperature and the unit design. Some of the better ones can be programmed to run at reduced speed which = reduced capacity and would be good for TD's and CTC's. If you use one that is too big and can not be slowed down you have the same problems as with any oversized A/C; too much on - off cycling and too little moisture removal. They are huge dollars compared to window shakers.

All of the systems I see here are expensive and too big for a tear, this can be done for less than $200 and less than 50# easily replaceable.
