Ack - the bubble monster has struck again !!! Mine got hit and it hasn't even been out of the garage yet ...

You can ask around & see if anyone brought an iron with them :R

Looks like a really nice campground. Enjoy your trip, the bubble problem is a pain in the butt tho fixable.

Have we come to the conclusion that the bubble issue is from adding the outer paint too soon, without letting the glue coat cure well?

On the bulging corners, maybe you can strip the canvas off of those areas and sand back to round; let it sit (maybe even spritz it with a mist of water from time to time) to be sure that it is done reacting and has fully kicked. Just sort of spit balling here.

Still, with those scenic views, the little things don't seem so important.

Seems to me that is one contributor but also poor adhesion to start with caused by failure to sand, oils on surface, missed glue, dried glue, and others.

The bubbles can be repaired by Ironing (heating through a wet towel enough to re-liquify the TB II, or squirting in thinned TB II with a syringe device, or slicing with a razor and doing the sand & reglue thing, etc. It's sometimes easier to just remove the small canvas segment with a razor and redo it properly with finishing using normal dry-wall-repair-techniques to make the patch job invisible.

Pretty minor issues realy considering your build speed.
As KC said you could attack those corners with a belt sander or something and make sure they've stopped "growing" before you recover it.
Love this build can't wait to see it completed

Hello all! After a year of slumber, I have rebooted my build with a flurry of mostly undocumented progress. Taptalk always seems to get my pictures and descriptions mixed up, so I'll do several posts.

First on the to do list was build a better door seal. After wandering my home depot endlessly without inspiration, I went to a different home depot and had my eureka moment. I used the rubber "floor edge" or "wall bottom", I can't remember just what it's called. 4 inches wide by 3 feet long, with a little .5 lip that sticks up. One on the trailer body with the lip up, one on the door with the lip down. I don't have a great picture of this, but I'll get one. Here is what I have. Also got some lift supports installed. They are not quite strong enough. They will open the door 50% by themselves, and then hold it open once you push it the rest of the way open.

Next up was interior. We were planning a trip to the in-laws for the Easter family reunion. The guest rooms fill up quick, so we figured we'd bring our own beds. Knowing the whole family would be checking out my handiwork, I had to make it presentable.

I filled the 2"gap in between interior and exterior walls with a layer of 1/2" pink foam and a layer of 3/4" white foam., then hit all the gaps with spray foam. Interior walls are made of ivory Coroplast in 4x8 sheets. Flutes oriented vertically followed the arc of the roof beautifully. ImageImage

I got some work done on the bed platform. I'm using the "slat drawer" bench seat design. The two sides didn't line up on my first try. It will look better next time I take a picture

My camper has been accepted as an exhibit in the upcoming Austin Maker Faire. Deadlines always motivate me, but this one comes during crunch time at both school and work. Since Maker Faire is about building things, its totally ok to show up in an unfinished state and work on it during the show. I might just cut the wood for the second bed and assemble it there with crowd participation.

Any update on the Slipstream? Has it worked out okay for you? It is the closest I have found to the kind of design that I would like to build so I got really excited when I found this thread.

Thank you so much for sharing your work. :applause:
