Well, after 4 wonderful years together, the Escape Pod had moved on to another owner.

I figure we put about 5000 miles on it thru 3 states and it was everything we had hoped for.

But now our 50+ year old bodies weren't getting the same joy as years past. Our want for a few more conveniences (headroom, potty, adult sized bed, etc) dictated something larger.

What started out as a plan to build out a cargo trailer got derailed when we went to the camper store for planning ideas, and a curvy little used 17 footer called to us and that was all she wrote...

We officially pick up MOEP this Friday, load it up, and hit the road for a shakedown weekend in Show Low.

Just wanted to say the past 6 years on the board have been great and it was what opened me up to real camping. Hopefully our oversized canned ham will still allow checking in for tips and tricks and sharing pics of just being out and about.

The young couple that bought her on the spot today seemed really excited - I think she's going to carry on making great memories for them for years to come.

See if this works for Google Maps:

"Brushy Canyon?" Just north of Payson - boondock site, only a couple possible places to camp next to the water.

Put it on Craigslist Sunday night, sold it to the first caller and delivered it to them yesterday, as they're still getting their tow vehicle squared away. Really cool people, seemed super stoked to get it and I think they'll have a lot of fun with it.

I'm a serious amateur photographer, lol. Sony a6000 and a few lenses - the whole kit fits in a tactical shoulder bag, but I rarely hike with more than a single zoom and it clipped to my belt. Sold off a huge, heavy Canon kit a few years ago and never looked back.

I'm like a kid on Christmas eve - pick up the new one in the morning, go square away the storage yard parking spot, home to load up, and off to Fool Hollow Lake for the shakedown.

I went past there today. I was in Flag for work and took Lake Mary road home though Payson. Most every thing in that area is closed now. We need some heavy rain and no lighting.

That is great it sold so fast. And to someone that will love having it.

My wife was saying she would like a camera and I was thinking a mirrorless would be good for her. I have a 6d now and am really liking full frame again. I worked a few years in Chicago working in pro photography studios. Now it's just for fun.

Breakfast is a cooking! There having a triathlon here today so we're going to watch them run/bike by and shoot them with squirt guns.

Dogs not so sure... Hasn't pooped in a day, not eating much - but loves being outside and exploring. She'll figure it out.
