New Pace 6x10

Postby MADTRAPPER » Thu Oct 27, 2016 7:54 pm

Finally got my 2017 pace. Hunt and fish in northern Canada. What's the best way to insulate this. Thanks. ImageImageImageImageImage

Nice trailer, like the RV door with screen. And the higher window. How much does your roof vent rise above your roof?
I don't know the best way, I know the common way. Ridged foam insulation. I think sprayed on would be best but $.

Not sure about Roof vent. Not sure how much room there is between the plywood and outside wall. But ridged foam be the best way I think. Will be working on it all winter have heated shop.

I am going to have to follow along with this thread. I am thinking about building up a cargo trailer as well. Nice looking start you have there.
Many years ago, I worked for a fiberglass manufacturer and we used to make insulation for aircraft as well as home. I wonder how that would do for a trailer but I would not know where to find it either.

Thanks. The roof vent is appropriate 41/2 in total height of trailer with vent is 8 foot. I can put 1 1/2 in. foam on roof. The sides look like 1 in.

I'm sure THEIR reasoning has to do with production cost, but, I'm looking at it and thinking, "look, they left it open to make it easy to run wiring!" :)

I'm thinking the roof is square tubing could a guy drill some holes in it and use spray foam to fill up the inside of the tubing.

I don't think I would fill the tubing with foam. Even if you get a good fill, foam can absorb and hold moisture, which could cause the tubing to rust from the inside out. I would leave it as it is.

Painting the walls white. Don't know what to do with the floor. Thinking some kind of gray paint.
