You can use hot melt glue to glue blocks with hooks the inside of the door pieces to allow you to pull them into place with straps while the epoxy sets up. Later you can just pop them off or use some alcohol to loosen the blocks if you get carried away with the hot melt.

I'm clueless as to the purpose of these "trailer spacers". What are they used for? Googling the term doesn't yield an answer.

The camper shell of my build has a spine of sorts that runs the length of the bottom. Also the trailer has bolt heads that I don't want cutting through the finish on the bottom.

Chesapeake Light Craft's kits are pretty hard to screw up. I am assuming from your handle, that you are in West Virginia. Annapolis MD can't be too far for you, you should drop in on them sometime.
