Will this trailer work for our build?

Postby MikeofLegend » Sun Jan 08, 2017 11:57 pm

I'm looking at the 5x8 Iron trailerkit from Northern Tool.
I'm also looking at upgrading to 14" tires and installing electric brakes.

We want to build a 6x12' 6' tall (in 6'3") camper (non-teardrop) with queen, twin, mini fridge and shower/toilet combo.

I plan to tow this with my 2015 Range Rover Evoque (3500 lb 330 tongue)

We plan to pull this cross country on long trips, running dry and utilizing hookups.

I want to make sure the trailer kit will support my build as long as we keep the weight below the recommended 1700lbs.

In order to address the issues you mention, I'd recommend installing a #9 Dexter torsion axle. Read about it here: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=58078
Northern Lite Traveler design: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=51991
