Hello from a short term lurker, and dreamer, hoper, and lots of other things - terror ......
My name is Peta. I live on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia, where its summer currently.
I have dreams of building a TD but scaring myself that my skills won't be sufficient. But I've chucked my job, going to lose some weight, stop the antidepressants and do something scary. 2017 is my year!
(Oh, I started reading all the posts, but 144 pages! I skipped a few ....)
I promise dumb questions, and repeated requests for metric.

Welcome aboard Peta! Don't lose sight of any of your goals but take them one step at a time. Like the saying goes, "How do you eat an elephant?...one bite at a time". :)
There are GREAT people here who can build some gorgeous trailers and then there are a few of us (me) who can only build steps and my decorating skills leave a lot to be desired but, I love my trailer and the people I've come to know on this forum.

Take your time and read through the threads. Some of them are hilarious and others are quite informative. Enjoy your journey!

Hello from MN - taking the leap and going to build my own teardrop and hubby has offered to help. At this point, I know how to plug in a power tool, know what a measuring tape looks like and that I buy wood from a lumber store.

And with that said, I always jump into the pool at the deep end with my eyes closed, head first....I've done a ton of looking around and researching and ask myself, if I don't do this now, then when?

Debbie you can do it! And if you need a hand I'm in Brooklyn Park, and could probably come by and make confused faces. I did finish mine though so I have some tiny bit of experience.

Way to go Debbie! I did much the same on a 56 Shasta rehab/rebuild 6 years ago and am 90% of the way to deciding to build a td...but debating foamie, Woody or stitch n glue. Can't wait to see your build.

I have been off the form for a few years now. Just wanted to say hi again. I lost my husband Earl 9 months ago. It had been rough for my son and I.. We hope to get back into camping. I still have my teardrop sitting in the back yard. I got to get her cleaned up so we can start camping again. :)

We're practically neighbors then! I'm in Blaine. Hubby has pretty much taken over the build, which I'm okay with. I don't have the mechanical know how and I'm terrible with working things through, but he's going with my design and ideas....

Aww Peggy, I'm so sorry to hear that. My condolences to you and your son. I was wondering where you were but like many of us, we slack off from the forum for a bit then come back to see the same nice faces and a few newbies. I hope you get back on your camping feet again soon. It's good to see you again. Hugs to you.

Welcome back, Peggy! Sorry to read of your loss. Hopefully, getting back out there with your teardrop and seeing dear friends will help.
