New to me drill press

Postby QueticoBill » Sat Mar 18, 2017 3:17 pm

Found a 60s era Delta Rockwell 11-280 radial drill press at an estate sale. Couldn't resist. Not designed for steel but I think with cross arm slid back the column will be stuff enough. Well see. Excited to clean, lubricate, and use.

Wondered if this should be in "cast iron".

Good score if the price was right. You'll find that you won't use the radial function much but it's a neat tool nonetheless.

I have a fully restored 1946 Yates American 1702 combination saw, jointer and disk sander. I smile every time I use it though the jointer is almost useless. (I have a Walker Turner 6" jointer from the 1930's- nice tool.)

Back when America used to make things......
