I had my doubts about the Tank-less water heater! I thought it would waste to much water adjusting to reach the right temperature.
Your experience is making me rethink my water set-up.
Glad it worked for you

Did you get pics of the boondock? So glad you finally got time to work on your CTC. Almost done?

Like McDave, I have the Ecotemp L5 economy model and love it. Now I have mine hooked to work thru a converted shower box so I can have both hot & cold water inside and outside. Its close to being the best $ 100.00 I have spent on the trailer.

Some time ago I bought 7 feet of 4X4X.120 to make a bumper/leveling jack mount/stinky slinky holder.
After I bought the sewer hose I discovered that it didn't quite fit. :x After mulling over every possible
option under the sun, I decided to build a swage and make it fit. I had no idea how hard it would be to
pull an oversize chunk of metal through a husky length of square tubing. So I did a single bend on the
first time through. It went fairly easy, however, it took a jillion pumps on the jack to make it through (dern near killed me.)
Determined to only go through that only once more, I welded on a couple more chunks of iron to do the
remaining three sides in only one more pull.

The swage beginning its first pull. (Tubing was already bent on the lower left side. Nothing to do with this operation.)
Image

The drawworks. Finishing the first pull.
Image

The swage with wings added for second pull.
Image

The now octagonish square tube.
Image

Enlisted my son to help on the second pull.

Wow.. seems like alot of work to make a hose fit. You must do this stuff for a living.

I would have just looked for a slightly larger square tube.

It looks great in any case! So professional. :-)

It was a lot of work, but I needed to get it done. Didn't want a pipe. Don't think they make 4 1/2" square tubing.
To go to 5" my options were 1/4" or 3/16" wall thickness or order a whole length for $300. Thought about welding
up 4 pieces of 4 1/2" strap. That didn't sound like much fun or less work, plus I had the 4X4. As for my profession,
my grandfather was a fabricator, my father was a fabricator, my brother is a fabricator, and while I am not a professional
fabricator per se, I guess I inherited the gene. I consider myself more an inventor/maker. I build coin presses and vending
machines to make and dispense souvenir coins. http://Cointraptions.com

Not the best pic, but gives an Idea of what I do.

Thanks for sharing. That looks like a cool job. Do you fabricate the machines and parts as well as make the stamp designs? I have seen those machines before.

Yeah I do it all. Kind of a one man circus, Haha. I am in a push right now to get the trailer to a point that the wife and I can go on a little business trip to Jackson Hole WY on the 21st and see the total eclipse in the process.

I wonder if you could find a PVC end cap with a proper ID that would fit tight over the end? Also, RV stores sell square end caps
