I have an rc kit that this guy designed. He just decided to start scaling up, and check it out! It isn't a trailer, but a great illustration of how you can use unconventional materials for some surprising stuff.

Burt Rutan has been using moldless composite construction for decades. Remarkable aircraft.

We’ve been using Foam for electric( and gas) powered RC model aircraft since the early 1970’s ...

True, and I've long admired his work... even worked on a few when I was an airplane mechanic.

This here was an approach from another direction, however. Just thought you folks would get a kick out of it.

This MX-2 from Fancy Foam is about as much fun as one can have with foam. Image

Is it a hobby or an addiction? :)

I'm sitting in a room full of stuff at various stages of completion... or re-kitting.

Uhmm.... ok. I guess I chose my thread title poorly. I didn't mean to say nobody here knows the benefits of foam.

Awesome. ;)

I think that, while this was a pretty cool project, an electric motor would be outstanding as a self-launch and flight sustainer for a simple motorglider.
