Quilting Bee anyone?

This is where the gals can have their very own discussions...

You ladies are amazing with your quilt making - they are all beautiful! I have the patience of a Saint but no patience to make a quilt. I would probably stop after 2 squares. I get annoyed with myself when I have to make curtains but bought a new sewing machine so I don't have any excuses, but I try hard to think of some.

Keep the pics of your beautiful masterpieces coming! Love seeing them. :pictures:

Lovely work by all!

I'm a new quilter. Finished my first quilt top earlier this year and I'm working on my second. It's a paper pieced crosswalk quilt. All the colored fabrics were clearance bin finds and I just love how the colors play together.

That looks great. The colors do well together. Paper piecing can give amazingly accurate blocks. But I really hate doing it. I think because every strip, I have to rethink it.

I have been struggling to finish the VW camper throw. The couple broke up, so no wedding. But I will do it. I love the stitching my Sashiko makes. But turning a quilt under the needle is a PITA. I need a forward stitching pattern. The orange peel seems like a good fit. I'll have to mark the entire quilt before I start though.

My quilt group, at the senior center, had a shoebox of 2 1/2" sqs that no one was touching. So I took them and started making nine patches. Soon I had enough for three small quilts. They will go to the local women's shelter.

A fourth, using the sqs in a checkerboard pattern, is under the needle. Lots of sqs left, but I am moving on to half sq triangles.

So, here's the checkerboard. Last of the 2 1/2" squares.

I went on to make a half square triangle quilt. I quilted it from the off-set center in a spiral. Looks great, but was a PITA to do.

Then my first Twister. I am in love with this pattern.

There was some sort of conflict with the women's shelter. Something about them redecorating and our quilts would not "go" with the new décor. We are scratching our heads over that because we thought the quilts were being given to the women and children. So now we are donating to the local Ronald McDonald house. We and they are clear about what happens to the quilts.

Been a bit busy. Both grands now have quilts.
This is my granddaughters. The cross stitched bear months were done by a dear friend.

So, the first six months of this pandemic I just slept, watched tv and played Freecell. Then I finally got up and unboxed my new AccuQuilt I had bought last October. Made the pink quilt. You may have to tap the pictures to see them full.

Then I pulled out this spiral star I pieced several years ago, picked a background and finished it.

I liked it so much I made a similar baby quilt.
