I have looked and not found anybody else doing a conversion van top. Breaking new ground? To me it was a sensible move as I am fiberglass handy and I hate a wet backside when sleeping.

I see I have some people checking on me, well the project began this morning when I laid out the floor and walls for the beast. I put in 3 hours and decided to take a break and work on my car. I was going to drop a picture but I got a warning from Photobucket that I cannot do that anymore

I have been sitting on the beach drawing all sorts of different chuck box designs and thinking outside of the box. I have just about made up my mind as to the basic design. It will follow similar ideas as the Australian Drifta design but have more options. Located push button drawer pulls and locks now to find stainless formica sheets for the finished look. Need to locate fold down table legs. Everything I have found is 30- 36 inches high. I need 16 inch adjustable legs. Any ideas? I know I can fabricate from EMT when I get back to the US but would rather get a jump on this.

Sitting on the beachin the Philippines mentally designing the RERUN@ in my mind and on a small note pad. My previous build went really fast and I was pretty happy with theend result. Hoping this next build goes as smoothly. My concerns were water leakage and too hot of interior. That did not happen. Now my plans are leaning to a simple yet multipurpose design that can be adaptable to different challenges. I have 425 dollars invested so far and have most of the bugs already worked out. My only problem is sticking to the plan- hehe.

My retirement is going pretty good but, I am not one to sit around doing nothing. I started a bag business here in Legaspi making carry bags and backpacks. It is doing ok but the locals don't have disposable income and no one goes camping. Been here 3 months and have not seen one trailer of any kind. If anyone needs waterproof storage bags or equipment bags, let me know and I can give you a price.I cannot ship from the Philippines, cost would be 3 times the item value.

I am interested in a simple easy pop top mechanism. I have seen a couple of builds that looked really nice but the fabrication skills were probably beyond my skill levels.

Has it really been that long since the original Sidekick?

Yup and it is holding up well. Better than I thought. I wonder if I am breaking new ground. I know I have solved roof leakage.
