As promised, here's what we did with the TV. It would have taken 15 minutes to hang a bracket on the wall and be done with it. But Carrie had other ideas, and as usual, hers are better than mine! Anyway, after some trial and error and a couple prototypes, here is the finished product. It's a Footboard/ Media Center and my new favorite thing...

We made a pattern and cut out the footboard

We made doors and tracks for the doors to slide in, then dry fit everything

We applied generous amounts of lacquer, then installed the doors, speaker and USB charging port permanently

Many hours went into getting the TV lifting mechanism just right. Brother Matt outdid himself on this one!

Here it is installed!

Until next time, Happy Building!

It's starting to sound like a broken record but...well done again Michael! :applause:  :applause: I finally checked out some or your Youtube videos and the Astroliner is even more impressive in 3D.

Wow, just, Wow! :applause:

You know you are going to have to do a trip around the country so we can all see Astroliner in person. :worship:

If you ever get out to Mesa, AZ I have room to park and will throw in a dinner and breakfast.

Cool. You are really keeping the design quality and integrity of your theme at the highest level. You should be... and deserve to be... very proud of your accomplishments on this project!

Thank you Brotherman. I'll be honest. I'm tired. Any progress on yours?

I went out to the shop last Saturday, mostly to align the headlights in the Jeep after replacing one of the lamps, but I did clean up my work area from the clutter and saw dust that had accumulated, put tools away that had been left out from various projects, and took a first look at my "new to me" 12/120v fridge/freezer. I need to make a new lid for it and spruce it up a bit.

Keep poking at me. I appreciate it and will turn things around here. Thanks. :D

It's tough sometimes to stay motivated on such a project. There are so many moving parts to the whole scenario. The time investment. The financial investment. Especially when life is full and many other things require time and money! For me, the travel, the expense of that and the toll it takes on my life at home when I'm away. It makes it easy to step away and not come back! But I keep dreaming. I keep imagining me and my family all together in some remote location enjoying nature and the fruits of our labor. We just have to remember why we started all this in the first place and reconnect with those reasons; rekindle the excitement that fueled us to begin such an undertaking in the first place! So, what is the next step? What is the next project on the agenda that gets the Poet Creek Express back on the rails? Keep dreaming KC. They'll eventually become reality...
