I like the additions and changes.

Your build - I believe you were living in Allen at the time - was one of the inspirations for me to start my build.

Hi Tom! It's been a while. I left Allen in 2014 for a new position in a new office for my firm.

I had no idea Rose was an inspiration for you. I'm glad to hear it. Your own turned out beautifully.
Holy cow, Rose is a teenager now! Done? Surely you jest. A teardrop is never "done".

I had the urge for more power! Routed straight to the tear's battery.

The lighter is fused at 15 amps. For whatever lighters do.

The upper left is actually two sets of Anderson Powerpoles. I had 12 Ga wire on hand, so fused them at 20 amps. There are two feeds as well. These will power ham radio gear.

USBs for whatever the Princess Helper needs to plug in.

Bottom right is a voltmeter. For measuring smoke or something.

I really like Anderson Powerpoles. They are easy to work with and make a good connection.

I’ve seen them for a long time, but never tried them. Part of it was the cost of the crimping tool.

I finally decided to try soldering the contacts in place. Piece of cake.

Just a wonderful build thread, and so labor-intensive to photograph and post again and again. Thanks.
Sooo, are the Princess and the Working Stiff in college by now?

The Working Stiff is. The Princess Helper is starting high school in August.

I'm glad the thread is helpful!

Great thread and inspiration. If we stay with TDs, I now know how to build one!

Buying a used one built by someone who was basically clueless sure was an experience for us.

Sniff, the disk wheel covers Rose has worn for 10 years are no more. I had changed her original tires and wheels before the last trip out. I forgot to give Rose the anti-rejection medication, so somewhere in the first 30 miles both wheel covers were spit out like bad tobacco.

So, I took another route. New wheels need new paint, therefore Rose is now going to sport a new look.

From the "why didn't I do this long ago files". I added stabilizer jacks to Rose. Now I don't have to mess with the screw jacks and blocks of wood, yada, yada, etc.

I used the 17" light trailer jacks from BAL. Jacks are in a 2 pack, optional foot pads are a 4 pack. Go figure.

I have the same jacks and I like them a lot. Now you need to make or buy the tool so you can use your cordless drill to take them up and down.

You'll love them! When we get to camp, I unhitch, lower the front of the TD slightly below level (referenced fore and aft) using the tongue, level the TD from side to side at the rear using the trailer jacks, and then raise the front of the trailer to level. Takes about 1-2 minutes.

It's kind of like the hot dog buns/hot dogs conundrum! I still have two "extra" foot pads laying around somewhere.

LMAO. I hear ya. I've got a number of surplus parts "around here someplace" throughout my garage.
