I'm Back !

Postby TOTAL CARNAGE » Mon Jul 02, 2018 8:58 pm

WOW, I didn't realize how long it has been! Funny how life gets in the way of things. The first camper is long finished and old now. I built a second one much lighter for a cross country trip with a new tv. I will show you a few pics of it. More of a stuff hauler than a camper but big enough to sleep in when needed. All foam, full under floor storage and on a Harbor Freight 40x48 trailer. Pa. to Ca. and back with many side tracks along the way. On the road from Dec 28 to March something and around 10,000 miles on it. It is now getting retired and a new sleeker user friendly camper with windows will be built so I figured I would take you all along for the build. Going to be a slow one as I have a few other "things" going in the shop. I hope you will all enjoy the ride! 155151155152155154155153155156155155

Rockets are NOT cheap!! Just rented them....Had to give them back :( The foam I used on this one is Roof underlay. 4 x 8 sheets, 1 1/2" thick. Two layers thick with a fiber reinforced paper on each each side and separating the two layers. one layer is 1/2" and very hard the other is 1" and softer. The paper is not waterproof but has held up well on stuff that has sat out for years. I just painted it with two nice coats of oil based enamel and it has held up better than I could have hoped.155160155161

That reminds me a little of my "Get er done drop" that I built after I sold my first teardrop since I was moving to a place with no garage but still needed a camper asap! 4 years later it was spotted at an RV store for sale still looking the same
