Pop up room or small tent to use a Porta Potty in

Postby joebesse » Fri Jul 14, 2006 3:20 pm

Some of the campgrounds I use do not have toilet facilities and was wondering if someone can direct me to a website or some place where I can get a small pop up room or small tent to use a Porta Potty in for privacy. To be used in conjunction with teardrop camping. Thanks and if possible please reply offline to: [email protected]

Cabella's Privacy Tent. Excellent potty/shower room. Not the least expensive on the market...........just simply the best.

I use a $8.00 camo tarp tied to two trees with the "Crap Master 2000" behind it. My 17 year old daughter's not thrilled with it though.

Those factory tents are ok, if you have a factory tear.

I am at the finishing stages of building a rather individual project, going through a fair amount of money and an inordinate amount of time in the process. Putting an import "cabana" beside it doesn't fit my schedule. !

There are pictures around of some very nice, obviously shop built side tents. I forgot all I knew about sewing, but I'll bet I can learn again.

It looks like one could be "framed" with copper pipe, or EMT or even PVC and a simple tent built to cover that frame. I've tent camped in enough wind that I'd make sure it was strong and attatched firmly to the tear.

Suggestions?

Commandant Louis Joseph Lahure has a singular distinction in military history - he defeated a navy on horseback. Occupying Holland in January 1795, the French continental army learned that the mighty Dutch navy had been frozen into the ice around Texel Island. So Lahure and 128 men simply rode up to it and demanded surrender. No shots were fired.

I haven't used it yet though we may at IRG. the only beef I have with the wal-mart privacy tent is that it has a full floor. Even though it is mesh on the sides, I fear that it may pool water. Which means you will have to pack it up wet. Otherwise, I'm pretty satisified with it.

We use this:

It pops up in seconds, and after a few times of doing it folds closed quickly as well. Stores very small as well!

If you want to go on the cheap side. a friend of mine made an enclosure we used over the 4th consisting of 1" PVC, 4 hose clamps and a shower curtain. Made a 2 foot square frame, hung the curtain and then used the hose clamps to mount that to his EZ up. Not pretty but effective and it sure beat walking the 1/2 mile through the sand to the bathroom :)

I couldn't agree more. We have one and simply love it. It has a nylon corner shelf with a water protected toilet paper compartment and a slit on the bottom for the paper to roll out of. it was well designed by the way it goes together, easy and very strong for what it is. It's the best in my opinion   Danny

I have this one, pretty easy to put up, and a very nice size.
