 All right, let me be sure I've got this right. I think we're meeting in Snowville at the Sinclair station on the 9th around 2PM. Somebody (not me) got a vehicle pass for the big day on the 10th, and I got one for the 11th. I'll be leaving home in the morning of Monday the 6th and driving like a bat out of Heck to get there on the 9th.

I'll be reachable at five won 2, six ate 8, oh ate 9 for. :D
I'll burn that bridge when I come to it.

Just received word that will make it impossible for me to attend. A death in the family takes me 400 miles in the opposite direction for the funeral on the 10th. Sure hope y'all have a good time.

My phone # is 208 312 3270. Will probably have very spotty reception out there.

Will texts get through better?

If you can't make it till Friday and we move west on the rail bed you should still be able to catch up with us.

On Thursday I will be at the Sinclair station in Snowville I probably will not have my trailer but will be in my 2008 Trail Blazer. It is a dark purple.

Rob, so sorry to hear of your loss. We'll meet again.

Wolffarmer wrote:Will texts get through better?

The short answer is "yes." They won't necessarily go thru right away, but any time you get just a moment's connection to the cell network, your texts will go thru.
I'll burn that bridge when I come to it.

Looking forward to meeting all of you. I'll be in a tan Toyota tundra. No trailer this time. All the talk about deep washes and special hitches tells me to leave it home. This will be my first time off of pavement in a way, so I don't want my lack of experience being a pain. Thanks Jen

I almost think that this trail is not as bad as people lead on. Well at least not now. Looking at it on Google Earth it looks to me like it is mostly graded now. I guess time will tell. I just added ability to switch to a pintle hitch if needed, plus I am brining ATV loading ramps to smooth things out for the trailers if it does get rough. Welcome aboard, George.

I have another person coming with me. Not sure if you remember Jamie or not. He drove the Dodge pickup on the 2017 Mordor trip.

I am also bringing ATV ramps to smooth out the gullies if they are bad. It looks to me, on Google Earth, that this road has been improved. Still should be fun though. Looking forward to good conversation and wide open spaces. George.

Hey Jen

Trail is not bad at all. Mostly old rail bed but there are places have to get off the rail bed and go through washes, biggest problem there is the angle that some of them present. Of course it has been more than 10 years since I was last there. Weather is looking great, at this time. Not like the mud bog we had in 2016.

Sounds good Randy...

Planning my trip back. Are you familiar with the road going north through Grouse Creek and Burley? Looks like a straight shot north to the freeway. Looks to be mostly gravel though.

Thanks, George.

I take that road often. This time of year should be good. If earlier in the year snow can cover it or still soft from the winter. I almost got stuck once. Washboards are usually not to bad and this early maybe they have been graded out. Gravel from Grouse Creek to almost Oakley. No gas until Oakley, or Burley for sure.

I was kind of thinking of going that way and swinging through City of Rocks.
