taping wiring to interior foam'canvas ?

Postby rustytoolss » Mon May 20, 2019 5:53 pm

I've got some wiring that I need to tape on to the interior canvas of my Foamie. I've tried black Gorrilla tape/ Duct brand tape. Nothing I've used seems to stick very well to the canvas...Anyone know of some type of tape to hold some 12 volt wires to interior canvas ?

How about another strip of canvas and glue?

There are various compatible fittings available, as well.

This style of drywall anchor works in canvas covered foam:https://www.amazon.com/Drilling-Drywall-Plastic-Anchors-Screws/dp/B01FCZ8I3I/ref=zg_bs_6906598011_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=JRYB1P13B9V63WQWXT6H

That could hold the channel if you can't find a suitable adhesive. The channel would look better.

The channel comes with a very aggressive double backed foam tape already adhered to the back of the mounting channel. I chose to put a few pan head screws here and there just to be "sure", but I needn't have and found that they actually interfered with some of my fatter wiring bundles.

Smearing a thin film of 5 min Epoxy on the canvas area will allow the tape to stick , and maybe too well …
There’s no place like Foam !

Raceway does seem the logical way to go, at least on the inside.

I hope to keep wiring to an absolute minimum, but after camping for a while, we may decide there is something we simply must have. I’m an electrical worker, wiring is simple. I just don’t see much need.
