What if you chill the inside first thing in the morning? Kind of a shock to the system. But if you got the inside temp down to ambient, the the slower rise you are seeing might keep it tolerable during the day.

There was a 50 degree rise in outside temp but only 15 inside. You need a lower starting temp inside.

Yes, absolutely. Working on that right now.
Setting the big 18" fan on high but not likely to cool much overall or have sufficient effect on the thermal mass temperature. More likely just superficial light surface air cooling. Short term, inner, ambient air cooling, but will probably quickly rise back to previous temperature.

62. 72, and that's probably all that I'm going to get from the fan. Interior is retaining heat as a thermal mass and in the walls and contents. Slow to heat or cool, but also slow to heat or cool. Insulation just slows down the temperature change process.

Some question as to my outdoor reading.
Weather underground says 55 while I'm reading 62.
My outdoor sensor is placed in the back under the floor.
It may be reading retained, residual thermal heat of the camper itself, and not outside ambient air in it's readout.
And I'm too lazy to go out and move it to verify. More comfy in bed right now. Lol.
I'm not that dedicated a scientist.
Or in other words, the things I won't do in the name of science. :lol:
Checked my other high quality, premium, mega expensive $7 Tfal cooking thermometer, and it reads 60 as well. It was located in the front cab. My Accurite information thermometer is back in the camper, or beer cooler section.
I Moved the Tfal to the back and it's reading 70. So double check there confirms the readings.

So after 1.5 hours of fan air circulation, still 62 out and 72 in. And not likely to get much better with the day heating up to 83 forecast. Would require fan on all night to probably gain only a couple degrees drop on interior temperature and it's too noisy for that so not ideal for sleeping.
The only answer is a/c really.
Or seeking cooler environmental temperatures which is possible given the proximity to higher altitudes nearby.

Wait, I think I might have missed something. Is your big beer cooler without any door or windows? Maybe 1 vent would let you pull cool air though the back enough to bring the ambient temperature down so you stay comfortable a couple of hours longer.

But I think you are right. Either A/C or elevation are the only real solutions.

Correct, no windows yet. Still experimenting and determining what the limitations of the setup and 4" insulation are. Discovering as I go along and posting my results for others to see and possibly help make their future decisions. Paying it forward.
So yes, vents for flow through ventilation were in the plans, now trying to see if necessary, and how much vent and where, if at all. I had purchased some 12v computer fans and test a quick test with them. Limited in the amount of air flow so good only for air exchange. Had to get bigger residential hands for cooling air flow.
The plan is to seek mild temperatures as much as possible and adjusting within the ideal operating camper temperatures. Shade, ventilation and a/c for comfortable summer temperatures so things don't get :x

MaxxAir and Fantastic Fan are very good high-CFM capable choices.

Usually mounted in the ceiling at one end.

Passive (screened and sealable) openings for venting at the other end, low down.

Ideally outputs from fridge/freezer, cooking, toilet, batteries are taken along for the ride without needing any separate dedicated venting.

So the adventure rig is out and about, serving utility for it's intended purpose. A weekend at the lake, but the road is washed out.
Do I dare go past the hazard bouys?
Do I or don't I? Should I or shouldn't I? :o
An oversized beer cooler should float right?
Next experimental trials, water bouyancy testing...

So I talked to some experts before I commenced upon my water bouyancy trials.
They summed it up in two words.

A 6 month update after 5k miles on the road with 95+% hwy at 50-70 mph, temperature exposure from 110+F down into the 30s, winds in the 20-30 + gusts, constant Southwest desert sun exposure, rare occasional rain, highway buffeting and parked camping out :)

All the things to report, well, not much, so far so good. :applause:

My fabric to foam bonding has remained tight overall with no peeling, bubbling or delaminating. :thumbsup:
Yay, my prayers were answered, or effective application? :worship:
Only one small 2" stress crack at a seam which I cut out, reglued and sealed. That's it. Frame and structure have been solid so far. Pushing on the outer wall results in the entire box and rig moving as a complete unit.

Sufficiently framed for integral strength?
Only time will tell how well the overall framing and foam to wood bonding will hold up to on road stresses. Do plan on minimizing the external force impacts as much as possible through route selection and speed moderation.

Am finding the white box truck look a little too drab, needs some pizzazz.
Along with this crazy idea I have of :shock: needing matching wheeled luggage.
