Good Luck and Be Safe Don. You know when to hunker down and when to bug out.
Not to make light of your situation, but I seem to spend my entire life in the "Cone of Uncertainty"...

Thanks Mcdave. As it turns out, I will be riding this one out in Grand Caymen. I had a week long diving trip already planned and as long as I can fly out Saturday, my wife and I are gone. I always buy trip insurance when I go to Caribbean during Hurricane season. If this ugly storm actually damages my home, they will fly me home immediately on thier dime and reimburse for unused portion of trip.

So, I will spend tomorrow buttoning down the hatches, taking down antennas and checking on neighbors, then I am grabbing my dive bag and heading south to Ft. Lauderdale International.

They always get us worked up so we are use to it. Hopefully it will not hit direct and all will be well.

In any case, thanks for the concern. Tommy is a survivor. He will be fine. He's probably already stocked up on Bud Light, steaks, and propane for the grill. :-)

flboy, Howdy;

Yea, my brother that lives in Coco beach decided to rent a car to go visit Northern Mississippi
for a few days. He works at the Marriott where the cruise ship come an go. They are closing
the hotel down for 3 or 4 days. Heard it mentioned this morning on one of the morning shows
that in all the time they been tracking these storms that they either go for the Southern tip
Palm beach and below or Jacksonville and North or drag themselves across from West to East,
so this is first one to make land fall on Central East coast of the Sunshine State.

So, have fun on Grand Cayman. Don't forget to put a tattle-tail in the freezers to let ya know if
the temp inside got above 32*. I use a 1/2 liter Gatorade bottle 1/2 full, freeze either up right
or horiz. then change orientation. check it when ya get home and if water is in wrong place ...
power was off a looong time. I do it whenever I take the RV anywhere or travel with it remaining
here.

Thanks Hank. I hope this one passes us by. Has the potential to get real ugly here.

For a tattle tail I usually just take a plastic cup and fill it half full of water, freeze it, and then put a coin on top. If the coin is still on top, then the ice never melted. If it is on the bottom of the cup, then I know the power was off a while and long enough to thaw the contents.

Take care. Your brother will be better off in Mississippi next week anyhow.

Well buttoned down and leaving tomorrow. Hope I have a place to come back to. If we get a for real CAT4, this will probably make no difference, but maybe help with CAT1 to 2 winds. Used 3ft earth anchors and tied down so hopefully will help to not blow over. Also tied to front to keep it from turning... I hope. Did what I could do, will hope for the best. Got all the house buttoned down too.

You folks handle this stuff amazing well, but from here it makes a couple of months of 40 below seem like a cake walk. Just sayin'...

It now appears Dorian is going to stay off our East Coast far enough to have little impact, this is the view from my room tonight in Grand Cayman,and I start Scuba Diving in the morning. All I can say is wow, God is so good. I was really stressed earlier this week about the storm.

Prepare for the worst and pray for the best. Answered!

Dorian still needs to turns soon or we may be back in the woods again. Nothing I can about it. Just going to make the best of it here and be ready to make my way home immediately afterwards if need be.

Area is in the red now. :-(

flboy, Howdy;

Just make sure you get the proper amounts into your Off Shore Accounts,
hear that Grand Cayman is a good place for that stuff ...

Thanks Hank. Dorian is passing by my area tonight and we will only get minimal hurricane conditions if that. We dodged another bulletx no doubt. Those poor folks in the Bahamas got destroyed. That could have been me. My heart aches for them and thier total loss.

Meanwhile... enjoying my stay in the Caymans the best I can. Got all the offshore accounts settled and my money laundered (always forgetting loose coins in my pockets that end up in the wash machine). ;-) .

What happens under the water in the Caymans stays underwater in the Caymans. Just saying. ;-)

flboy, Howdy;

Ok, so how deep is the Lady? has to be deeper then 30'
as your swim shorts went from Red (dies at about 30'),
to green. She's a cutie that's for sure.
