Picked up 2002 Honda XR200R. Going to fix it up for the 12 yr old.
Cleaned carb and air box tonight, ordered tires, cables, levers, tubes, motor oil. Going to add some pressure washer tomorrow and see if I can get it fired up this weekend
Even though the number of solar panels actually needed is driven by the number of watts your devices will draw, if your wallet can handle it, and if you have room to mount four solar panels, I would think that four 100W panels would be an excellent start. I think you will appreciate the extra watts on cloudy days. I have three 100 watt panels and wish I had room for at least one more panel.
Seems like a good deal with all the connectors and etc.. The first thing I'd upgrade would be the charge controller. You really want a MPPT controller instead of the PWM type. But that is an upgrade and this is a good price all other things considered. You need to consider what batteries to get. Two good Duracell 6VDC Golf Car batteries in Series would go great with this and give you good performance and keep up with the fridge and the few lights with no problem if you get a decent amount of sunlight each day. . More is better when it comes to panels and batteries.... but again... only if you actually need them. After you get use to the system, consider a MPPT controller. You can get an 30A Epever for about $129 whenever you are ready and then you keep the PWM controller as a backup in case the main controller fails. I have a 40A PWM controller in my drawer in the CTC in case I have a failure on the road. Will get me by until I can fix or replace the MPPT.
Thank you both!! Now need to weather this stupid virus and the news. But momma is more understanding of the prep option when the city closes due to this. Easy to pack up and go to the Mt for a “ camp trip “ instead of sitting at home with this drama!
I just made a over the phone purchase of a 2002 fifthwheel trailer. Wrecked, salvage what ever you wanna call it. $350 delivered and I hope the fridge works. The awning is intact and if I get lucky a 25ft flat bed trailer for the hard work.
Plan is to get it here and check to see if stuff I want functions. If so give those things and strip the rest of it to the frame and build a flat bed trailer for who knows what. Or sell it and make some money back on my project
