Hurricane hinge

Postby Melle.17 » Mon Aug 23, 2021 11:14 am

I’ve been dealing with an issue. My hatch won’t close right. It acts like it’s hitting something on one side but I’ve done a lot of trouble shooting and don’t think that’s it. I did notice my hurricane hinge won’t move side to side (like if I try to adjust it). Should it be able to move side to side when open? This is so frustrating…

Try putting a nylon washer and stainless screw at both ends of the hinge.

It’s not currently moving but I’m wondering if that’s a clue to the problem. It won’t budge. So I’m wondering if the hinge is punching or something on that end that is keeping it from closing properly. If I haven’t secured it shouldn’t it be able to have some play?

Maybe put your phone on video and place it in that area to find out what's happening.
