Fender input needed

Postby JasenC » Mon Jun 06, 2022 12:34 am

Looking for a little input from the group.
Not to keen with the fender brackets on the NT trailer, kind of need to take a hammer to them to get the fenders to sit level and well, they are just kind of cheap and ugly

I could fab up something a bit cleaner/stronger but seeing I'm building out over the fenders I'm thinking of ditching the brackets and bolting the fenders to the bottom of the floor with some 1/4" stand off's so they aren't in direct contact so things can dry out under there and not rust out the fenders. Figure I can put in some Tee-nuts before closing in the floor, pump the holes full of silicon as I run in the bolts to seal them up.

I'm open to suggestions and brilliant ideas.
I'll be done when I'm finished, if that's not fast enough, take a number.

My fenders are supported with butt-welded tubing that's attached to the sides of the chassis frame. The tubing is on the inside of the fender.

If I were to do it over, I'd weld the 1" tubing under the frame. I don't know if you have room to do that?

Mine are bolt on, but using brackets underneath. I think I found them at Tractor Supply.

Both of those set ups are a lot nicer.
