New Tear Owner

Now that I have pictures in my album, I feel that I can post. Will look for a proper picture of me fot the avitar.

Got the tear through Craig's List. Have been working on upgrading it to my tastes. My woodworking skills only included a few minor home improvement jobs before this. I had watched a lot of projects being built by my DH and my dad. Although I had used a miter saw for cutting molding, I had never used a jig or circular saw before.

The process has been a learning experience. Worked really hard so that I could go to the IRG. Made a lot of mistakes that I have to fix. I now realize that it could have gone as I bought it.

The frame is actually 3'x7' which explains the wheel wells, lack of fenders, and the modernistic shape. Future plans are to add electricity, curb the rust progression on the frame, line and insulate the inside, and add better hardware.

I've had a great time working on it. The trip to the IRG was wonderful. My progress is due to the information on this forum.

Garden Hose

Postby mfkaplan » Fri Aug 11, 2006 11:07 pm

The garden hose is the drain from the sink. I still use it, but only attach it when I use the sink. I have a container to catch the used water.

Mary,
It was very nice meeting and talking with you at Pamplin Grove.
Joanie and I were in awe about how far people traveled to just get here.
It sure makes me feel good to hear people say that they had a good time.
I look forward to seeing you at more gatherings!

Thanks for being a part of the Inaugural Redwood Gathering!!! :applause:

Yes, Gage, it was my first night out . I had a great time at the IRG. I met some wonderful people. Thanks for giving me my first welcome. I want to go out again soon but need to fix some things in case I get rained on.. Right now I have to redo the doors so they actually fit and install real hinges and locks which I have ordered. Electricity would be nice. Nice picture too.
Hope to see you soon.

Mary, that black spot isn't a tire mark, it's where something was swinging back and forth on the hook above the mark

Jim, I do believe you are right. Anyway it was rather ugly flooring and its gone. The new galley although not finished is much more functional.
