I need clamps!?!

Postby myjeepcherokee » Tue Aug 15, 2006 9:00 pm

Hey guys, so I'm starting teardrop #2, starting to gather up tools already...and it looks like I'm going to need some clamps! Anyone know where I can get say 20 or so for a good price? Home depot had a 2 pack of 12in quick grips for 20 bucks...but I'd like to stay a little cheaper than that!

Mike's right. Harbor Freight is the place. They often have a multi pack with different sizes on sale for cheap. You can't have too many clamps.

Bledsoe3,

That's when I usually throw down a piece of 3/4" ply on top of it and back my car on to it.

Don't clamps come under that "Murphys Law" thing. No matter how many you have it would always be nice to have one more.

I've seen PVC pipe used as well..... I think it was on here; all you need to do is cut some 1-2" rings and then cut a piece out; just a bit smaller than the thickness your clamping up

Both sides had finish skin on them. I'm not taking a chance and have to build a new door. :cry:

PVC Clamps

Materials

3-inch Schedule 40 PVC pipe scrap

Directions

Cut pipe about 1" wide, then slice it once to form clamp. The wider you make the clamp, 2-inches for example, the stronger the clamp. You can make clamps from 2-inch pipe, on up. Ideal for shop, hobby, home, whatever.

And some more uses;
More PVC projects
