removable galley

Postby surveytech » Sun Aug 20, 2006 4:02 pm

Here is a couple of pics of a removeable galley.
Hope this spawns some ideas for all the new builders.

The countertop, upper pantry and front interior shelf rest on some 2 x 2's that are screwed to each wall.

The lower bulkhead is held in place with four window sash locks.

All comes out in about 2 minutes with no tools.
Needed to have cargo configuration to be able to haul "stuff".
(never have enough stuff)

Hope this helps someone.

Looks good.
Commandant Louis Joseph Lahure has a singular distinction in military history - he defeated a navy on horseback. Occupying Holland in January 1795, the French continental army learned that the mighty Dutch navy had been frozen into the ice around Texel Island. So Lahure and 128 men simply rode up to it and demanded surrender. No shots were fired.

Thanks for the pics on the removable gallery!

BTW, what supports did you use for the hatch? For the life of me, I can't remember what type those are called...

Aw, my idea of a few years back has been followed. My galley not only slides in and out but is also removeable. Need to remove galley and lower bulkhead so as to remove mattress. Yep, it takes about 2 minutes.

Have a good day.

Those are hatch props from Austin Hardware, cheap and strong.
