Hello from Dallas...

Postby caseydog » Tue Jan 16, 2007 1:49 pm

I just bought a LittleGuy teardrop. I bought the cargo version, so I could customize it. Now begins the customizing.

I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions. Hope to find some answers here.

Any other teardrop owners in or around Dallas hanging out here?

Caseydog,

There's quite a few teardropers around the DFW area, and I'm sure they'll be chiming in shortly. Welcome to the forum.

Caseydog,

Welcome to the forum!!!

There are probably a couple dozen registered users here from the DFW and surrounding areas. Some rarely post, and others are regular posters here.
Be sure and read the Southcentral section for details on get togethers and gatherings in our area.

Best Regards,
Ron

Welcome

Yes-sir Casey... Lot's of folks in the area. I'm new here too, but was made welcome at the first posting. Started my tear recently, and have a long way to go. But there is so much help in this forum; it should reduce the building woes.

Again; welcome... looking forward to a camping trip with all in the area, if I ever get the little dude done!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

No pictures of the TD yet. I just got it. I went with a Little Guy Cargo because I wanted to build from scratch, but thought I might be better off to go with a ready-made base, and work from that for the first one.

This set-up is also lighter than what I thought I could make myself. I didn't want to sell my Audi for something bigger, just to tow a camper.

I'm going to keep mine simple. I want to keep the weight down, and when I camp, I like to get away from the TV and Stereo and PC and stuff.

I'll put a propane stove in the small galley, and I always have my travel-size Weber kettle. In short, I'll use the TD the way I used to camp with my tent.

LOL, once upon a time, I backpacked into camp. Then, it was tent camping near a car. Now it's a TD. Must be getting old. javascript:emoticon('')

I'll post some shots up once I get something started. I just got it, and want to dive in, but I gotta go to Phoenix for the Barrett-Jackson Circus -- er, I mean car auction.

Maybe I can score a bargain classic to tow the TD with. Hmmmm.

You coulda picked up a really nice original 64 Thunderchicken the other night down there. Real nice shape with 64k original miles 390 in it. Would have look great in front of a tear. It went for $34k not bad.
