Is that for your teardrop or your car?

I would see how well it fits your size wheel before purchasing it. They have adjustable holes for different sized wheels. I checked out a $300 model at Freeway Trailer and it was so loose on a 15" wheel I took a pass on it. :) Danny

I have the lock in the note above.. it works well.. only downside is the wheel has to be in an 'almost correct' position to use it.... but it has that 'big clunky, don't mess with me' look about it.

For those who are thinking of smoothie wheels and a good wheel lock you'll be hard pressed to find one for under $300. I'm still looking. :) Danny

The website says it will work on smooth wheels too.....didn't investigate how. But isn't it sad we even have to think about stuff like this?

A few years back of friend of my husbands took a loaded cargo trailer to a motorcycle enduro. This fellow is a KTM motorcycle dealer. The trailer had 3 bikes and lots of supplies in it. It was not a small trailer. He and his employee stopped at a motel overnight. The next morning the whole dang trailer was gone  ! Never to be seen again!

Why can't people play nice!

That one relies on a lug nut to hold the wheel, I'm not so sure you couldn't snap it with some force. There was a similar theft of new ATV's on a trailer in plain sight at the Puyallup Fair one year. They just hooked it up and drove away never to be found. Danny

This design was mentioned in another trailer forum, so I looked into it. The design includes a bracket which is held on by a wheel nut, and is - in my opinion - exceedingly poorly designed. They intend for you to leave the bracket on while the trailer is towed, but there's no way I would do that. If it has to be removed every time, there's no point in the design. Interesting thought, poorly executed.

The original design in this thread looks like a better idea, but would work only within some range of tire widths. When I follow the link, I'm just in a truck and SUV accessories page, with no sign of the "wheel club" product... try this instead: The Wheel Club Tire Lock; that one says max 9" wide, but no minimum is given. It's also featured along with other Club locks at http://www.winner-intl.com/automotive/default.htm, but with even less information. There, is does seem to be promoted for trailers, not cars, presumably because cars are not so easy to tow away.

Okay, some more on the Wheel Club: according to the maker's news page, it was just introduced this summer.
