Couldn't find much googling. Here's a owner review.

Nobody had anything bad to say, so I picked one up on Friday. So this is a quick little review. It comes with the 12 volt adaptor cable, and a small funnel. Added oil and gas to it, moved the choke to on, pulled the rope and it started on the 1st pull :phew: . It can run my 5000 BTU AC with no problem or the 600 watt Microwave, but not both. The startup surge from the AC does cause it to stumble for a second or two, but it recovers fast. The microwave startup is a little easier for it even thought it has a higher wattage rating, less startup surge. Now for the noise, it is about the same as a lawn mower, maybe a little quieter, but not much. My trailer has a cover for the generator that I will line with sound foam, and I have added a pipe to the muffler to get the exhaust out of the compartment. The pipe and the cover do help quite it some. The generator has a 12 volt DC out that I will use that to power two fans to help cool the case. For now I give it a

This is the cover for the generator and AC with a little room leftover for storage. I’m to lazy to take it out so I built it in. I try and a good neighbor and keep things quiet, that why it’s in a sound insulated box. But if you want I can get a long extension cord and put it next to your trailer. :R

Do you have it vented so the A/C cannot draw any of the exhaust from the generator?

The top sides of the box on have vents and I will add 12 volt fans to blow the heat and fumes out. To let fresh air in the bottom of the box is expanded metal. I have also added a pipe to get the exhaust out of the compartment. Also the AC only pulls air from inside the trailer so no exhaust fumes should get sucked into the trailer.

I didn't know if the AC would bring in any fresh air to mix with the recirculated air.

Thinking about a generator, can a 1k generator run a pet cool??? meaning, can it handle the start up surge draw?

I think Bruce has a 1K Kipor that runs his pet cool. I'm sure he'll respond.

Steve (Sonetpro) has the Petcool 1K Kipor setup too. I have the 5Kbtu window shaker and a 2K Kipor.

Yes, the 1000w Kipor will power the Petcool. I have my Kipor up for sale on ebay. I picked up a 1000W Yamaha that I like better. Quieter and handles large loads better.

On the cheaper side of things I ran across this low priced generator website on a big RV site:

Don't know anything about them though...

Isn't that yamaha the same one that is offered in a propane version? I bet they have a conversion kit if you were so inclined.

Yeah, I'm kind of interested in that. It would be nice not to have to mess with gas. On the other hand, gas is a lot easier to find then propane.
