I haven't slept in the teardrop with it hooked up yet and as far as I can tell I don't hear any noise from the generator or blades. I only have put it up at home and the wind as only gotten up to about 5 to 10 mph, with that it's putting out 8 to 16 volts. I would like to find a generator that has high volts at lower rpm's. This generator is rated at 30volts at 1100 rpm. The blades and tail come apart for easy transport. The mount is welded to the frame of the teardrop and the pole just slides in and I have padlocks on it so when I use my solar panel it wont walk easy.
No not making any for selling but there are alot of sites on do it yourself projects. It was easy to make the blades are just 4" PVC pipe and you can cut three blades out of a piece 2' long. The blades on mine are scaled down to 2 1/2' radius. I still have to bevel the blade ends and balance the prop which is very close to being balanced. A guy here at work as a Corseair wind vane and thought it would be neat to put a generator on it to light anti collision and nav lights with maybe landing lights.
Let me settle in, I just got back from Los Angeles and the traffic getting into Phoenix was worse than all the traffic I drove in L.A. I do have the plans and will try to email them to you guys that ask.
